Abandoned

About this Series

To be abandoned is an honor. It means you were once so full of life your walls now hold a million stories. We use the words abandoned and empty interchangeably yet two words could never be more opposite. Walking into an abandoned building gives a comforting yet exciting sense of wanderlust and wonder. If you close your eyes you can nearly hear the laughter coming from the dining room and see a mother and father dancing by the stove. You can smell the faint scent of lilacs through the dampness and hear each stomping argument occurring upstairs.

They offer a sense of familiarity, a sense of empty fulfillment we can all identify with both at our lowest and highest points. We identify with the false sense of emptiness and darkness that comes when we walk in the door and all the stories and memories that inhabit the walls of the house; the lining of our souls.
